Sky Deutschland hired branding agency KMS TEAM to support the development of their entertainment brand, Sky. After launching Sky in Germany last year, the company wanted to further strengthen its market position and highlight its extensive range of products and services in the area of high-quality subscription television. All communication media, including the slogan “Das Besondere sehen” (“See something extraordinary”), position Sky as a premium entertainment brand.
KMS TEAM revised the primary on-air design element, the “Glassmark”, and developed general language guidelines as well as samples to describe all of the TV offerings. The agency also developed the branding for“Sky+”, a service that allows time-delayed viewing, and “Multiroom”, which customers can use to watch different Sky programs in various rooms at the same time. In addition, KMS TEAM designed product packaging and labels for the 3D and HD programs.
Currently KMS TEAM is developing the indoor and outdoor branding elements for the company’s new headquarters in Unterföhring, near Munich. Elements from the world of television are integrated throughout the building, creating a graphic design that reflects the idea “entertainment is everywhere.”
Subscription television is Sky’s core business. The company offers the latest movies, TV series and live sporting events, especially German Bundesliga soccer matches, the DFB Cup and the UEFA Champions League, to viewers in Germany and Austria. Sky is setting new standards with its HD TV service, which currently consists of 10 channels. The new HD 3D service features highlights from Sky’s exclusive sports and entertainment programs as well as popular movies and documentaries.
